Foggy. Faded in many areas. It's unknown whether Dainsleif is telling the truth when he says that his memory has all but faded, because he has no trouble recalling vivid details and facts about Teyvat and its history. He also carries with him the heavy burden of survivor's guilt (most likely) as he failed to protect Khaenri'ah and its people from the gods' wrath.
